Ask, Seek and Knock
Matthew 7:7-10 (New International Version)
Ask, Seek, Knock
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
I am going to put this passage in modern day terms, If your son and or daughter asks you for a cup of water will you give it to him/her. I doesn't hurt to ask but when you ask you need to be prepared that the answer might be no. If you ask you heavenly father for something the answer nine times out of ten will be yes. Now if it is yes it may not be in your time that he gives it to you. It might be the time you need it the most not when you want it the most. Let me give you an example. I am in college and I asked my landlord if he would allow internet hook-up in my room, he said yes, BUT it didn't happen right away. It happened when I needed it the most and that is when my school work got intense. My landlord didn't know that, BUT God did and he prompted my landlord to hook-up the internet. Believe me I wanted it right away, that wasn't God's plan.
God Bless!!!
